Aideen has vast experience of working with children which spans over 35 years in her role as a Primary School Teacher. During this time her role as a HSCL Teacher involved working closely with parents seeking guidance regarding their child’s mental well-being. This inspired Aideen to broaden her horizons and train as a Play Therapist.
Aideen completed her Certificate and Post Graduate Diploma in Play Therapy with APAC (The Academy of Play and Child Psychotherapy) who deliver the course in partnership with NUI Galway.
Aideen works with children aged from four to twelve years. Aideen understands the importance of providing an intervention for children who experience emotional, social or personal issues. Through play, art and conversation the child has the opportunity to explore their emotions in a safe and confidential environment thus empowering them to engage fully with the world around them and to reach their true potential.
