Counselling and Psychotherapy
Adolescents & Adults from age 16
Hello! My name is Ellie, and I’m here at NorthStar Counselling & Therapy Centre to offer adolescents and adults a safe, non-judgmental space to explore thoughts, feelings, and any challenges you may be facing. My approach is grounded in the belief that a strong, caring relationship between the therapist and client is key to healing, growth, and resilience. I’m here to walk with you through each step of your journey, providing understanding, empathy, and knowledge to help you discover your own strengths.
I tailor each session to fit your unique needs, using a mix of therapeutic approaches to ensure the process feels supportive and empowering. My focus is always on helping clients recognise and build on their own inner strengths and resources, so they feel capable of facing life’s ups and downs even after our work together ends. I want each person I work with to feel heard, validated, and equipped with tools they can continue using to grow.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy from The Irish College of Humanities and Applied Sciences and am a fully accredited counsellor with APCP. My experience spans many areas, and I’ve completed specialised training in trauma-informed therapy, Perinatal Mental Health, and Suicide Prevention (ASSIST and SAFETALK). Currently, I’m furthering my expertise with a Specialist Diploma in Play Therapy to enhance the support I can offer younger clients.
At NorthStar, I bring a passion for mental health and a commitment to continuous learning to every session. My goal is to create a welcoming environment where adolescents and adults feel comfortable expressing themselves and exploring their identity. Whether we’re working through specific challenges or focusing on personal growth, I’m here to help you navigate this journey with confidence and support. I feel honoured to meet so many strong individuals through my work and look forward to helping you find your path forward.
